Yoga, music, creativity: the best wellness workshops for children in Paris
In Paris, more and more young parents are looking for activities to share with their children. Faced with the often hectic pace of daily life, it is becoming essential to create spaces of connection, play, and well-being. Parent-child workshops meet this growing need: not only do they provide quality time together, but they also actively contribute to the child's emotional, motor, and sensory development. At Octopia, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, these workshops were designed with a specific requirement: to offer rich, reassuring experiences tailored to each age group, from infants to 12 years old.
Far from simple daycares or generic activities, the workshops offered by Octopia are focused on interaction, sensory development, movement, and creativity. They offer families a warm and professional environment conducive to connection, listening, and growth. Here's a look at the most popular parent-child workshops held weekly in our space.
Baby yoga: a moment of complicity from the first months
Baby yoga is much more than a trend: it's a true tool for connecting and supporting a child's development. From 2 to 3 months old, babies can participate in gentle sessions where they are guided through simple movements, accompanied by the parent's breathing and touch. At Octopia, Miniyoga sessions take place in a cozy, secure space, with a limited number of participants to preserve the intimacy of the moment. The benefits of baby yoga are numerous: relief from minor digestive ailments, improved sleep, stimulation of motor skills, and emotional calming. But above all, it strengthens the relationship between parent and child by allowing for attentive, respectful, and caring physical contact. The parent, meanwhile, can also enjoy a moment of refocusing, away from external demands.
Octomusic: awakening the senses through sound and rhythm
The Octomusic workshop, offered from 6 months, invites children and their parents to explore the world of sounds through rhythmic games, nursery rhymes, simple instruments (tambourines, bells, chimes), and active listening sessions. Sound is a direct gateway to emotion, and toddlers are particularly sensitive to it. By sharing a musical moment with their child, parents participate in the development of auditory memory, language, rhythm, and attention. But above all, they create a space for free, non-verbal expression, where they can sing, clap, dance, and listen together. These workshops are rhythmic but never noisy: they aim to balance stimulation and calming. Each session ends with a cool-down phase, so that children leave feeling calm.
Artistopia: exploring materials and expressing creativity together
Artistopia workshops are dedicated to the visual arts in all their forms: painting, clay, modeling, collage. From the age of 3, children can participate in these sessions with their parents, in a setting where freedom of expression is prioritized over the result. It's not about "making things pretty," but about testing, touching, assembling, and transforming, with the discreet help of a caring adult. For the parent, it's a great opportunity to see their child differently, to accompany them without directing, to observe their way of thinking and creating. For the child, it's a space where they feel legitimate, respected, and encouraged. All workshops are adapted according to the child's age and motor skills, and the creations can be taken home.
Workshops for all ages… and for parents too
Octopia also offers prenatal and postnatal yoga sessions, as well as connection time for new parents. The space was designed to support the entire family throughout their various life cycles: before, during, and after birth. Expectant parents can learn relaxation practices, body preparation, childbirth, or connecting with their unborn baby. New mothers can regain mobility and serenity after birth, while discovering tools to manage the stress and pace of the first few months.
A space designed for the quality of the relationship
All parent-child workshops are led by professionals trained in compassionate teaching and emotional support. The setting is warm, respectful, and joyful. Groups are small to ensure personalized attention and true comfort. The spaces are safe, appropriately sized, bright, and spotlessly clean. The equipment used is carefully selected for its quality, durability, and non-toxicity.
Why choose a parent-child workshop in Paris?
Participating in a parent-child workshop means, first and foremost, choosing to slow down. To step away from everyday life and settle into a space of play, listening, and co-presence. It's also an opportunity to observe your child differently, to discover their skills, imagination, and emotions, while strengthening the emotional bond that forms the foundation of their development. In Paris, it's sometimes difficult to find places truly focused on this relationship. Octopia was born from this desire: to offer families a place where play is serious, where awakening is joyful, and where we can grow together while having fun.
